TomorrowWorld suffers major issues on its final day and offers partial refunds

This past weekend social media was ablaze as news out of Chattahoochee Hills reached the Internet when a number of festival goers were left stranded following Hardwell's set on Saturday night. Due to the heavy rainfall and bad roads, Tomorrowworld made the decision to cancel day 3 of the event for everyone except for the 40,000 campers. According to Mashable, the total estimated attendance was 190,000.

To explain the picture above, Mashable's Brian Anthony Hernandez explained the situation on the ground:

"Unable to get away from the soggy 8,000-acre farmland 30 miles southwest of Atlanta because organizers stopped allowing cabs, Ubers and shuttles to get near pick-up spots, people stood in the cold rain for hours. Some eventually slept on wet grass or mud, while others walked five to 10 miles to find shelter or faraway transportation options."

TomorrowWorld has issued a partial refund, here's their statement:

Dear TomorrowWorld visitor,
First of all we would like to sincerely apologize for the inconveniences due to the weather conditions and to all who couldn’t be part of the 3rd day of TomorrowWorld 2015.
Continuous and unexpected rainfall over the last three days has severely limited capacity of the parking lots, entrance roads, and drop off locations in and around the festival site, and has led to severe traffic congestion. The experience and safety of the TomorrowWorld visitors is and always was our top priority.
You are the true People of Tomorrow and deserve all the respect in the world. As a part of this, the following refund policy will be active beginning today:
The following Sunday tickets will be refunded entirely and automatically, including service, shipping and payment fees:
  • Sunday Regular/Comfort Pass

Along with the bad weather that occurred during the festival weekends of Veld and Digital Dreams in Toronto, this 2015 summer festival season has been very tough on fans and promoters alike.

Veld Music Festival will be offering a 40% refund to ticket holders

This year's summer festival season in Toronto has been plagued by bad weather. Things kicked off with Bestival and GoHARD Toronto being rained on, followed by a full day cancellation of Digital Dreams. With Veld you would think Toronto fans would catch a break but unfortunately it wasn't in the cads as part of the first day was delayed, and the 2nd half of the last day was cancelled due to extreme weather. Realizing this, the organizers of Veld have graciously given a 40% refund of this year's event to all valid ticket holders. This will help take the sting off as fans, some of whom stretch hard to afford these events, will get much needed cash back.

Hopefully 2016 will give Toronto the summer weather they deserve, and with time, this year's events will be distant memory.
