Canada gets ready to celebrate their musical talent this Sunday at the JUNO Awards in Vancouver

It is the time of year when Canadians celebrate our musical talent! EDM Canada is excited to announce that we will be bringing you JUNOs 2018 coverage this week March 19 - March 25 from Vancouver BC.

Below are the excellent lists of nominees in the electronic music categories this year.

This year’s Electronic Album of the Year nominees are:

  • Tenderness – Blue Hawaii
  • Someone else – Cri
  • Two Hearts – Dabin
  • Music To Draw To: Satellite – Kid Koala ft. Emilíana Torrini
  • Mass Manipulation – Rezz

This year’s Dance Recording of the Year nominees are:

  • Not Going Home ft. Gia Koka & CMC$ – DVBBS
  • Get What You Give – Felix Cartal
  • Deeper – KAPRI
  • Closer ft. Laurell – Nick Fiorucci
  • Almost Home ft. Nadia Ali & Iro – Sultan + Shepard

This year, there is also an EDM artist and producer, Felix Cartal, nominated for the Jack Richardson Producer of the Year Award, for his songs “Get What You Give” and “Drifting Away”. 

Felix Cartal will also be taking on the role of HOUSE DJ at the 2018 JUNO awards on Sunday March 25 2018, live on CBC 5PM PT / 8PM ET.

Kaytranada, A Tribe Called Red, and Bit Funk all won JUNOS this past weekend (Pictures)

Last weekend the Canadian music industry converged in Ottawa to celebrate The 2017 JUNO Awards. The full spectrum of Canadian music was on display as artists from a wide range of genres were presented JUNO Awards.

In terms of the electronic dance music categories, Montreal artist Kaytranada won a JUNO for Electronic Album Of The Year. "99.9%" is Kaytranada's debut album and was seven years in the making. 

A Tribe Called Red

A Tribe Called Red won their second JUNO Award in the Jack Richardson Producer Of The Year category. They also had the honour to open the 2017 JUNO Award live show last night, check out the clip below:

Bit Funk was the surprise winner by taking a JUNO for Dance Recording Of The Year, beating out artists like Shaun Frank, Zeds Dead, Jacques Greene, and Adventure Club.

Here's what all of the nominated artists were after - The JUNO Award: 

Harrison performed in front of a packed crowd this past Saturday at Zaphod's as part of the JUNOfest celebrations. He gave the crowd a chill DJ set by playing tracks by Oliver, Point Point, Kartell, and Jean Tonique.
