What to do this weekend (Feb 20 - 22nd)

Bestival coming to Toronto Islands this June

Bestival, a well established British festival, is heading to Toronto on June 12th - 13th, 2015. Set to take place at the Toronto Islands, the U.K festival is partnering with SFX (Tomorrowland, Sensation, etc) and Embrace. Here's what festival founder Rob da Bank said on how Bestival will be different than other North American festivals this summer:

“No disrespect to the festivals in North America, but a lot of them are very much stages, bars, food tents,” Rob da Bank said. “This festival will look very different. It will have theatricality, ambition.”

To get a sense of what type of talent Bestival likes to book, check out this year's U.K lineup:

Bestival Toronto will hold up to 20,000 attendees a day, will you go? It seems to me that Bestival will be a direct competitor to the Electric Island series because of their similar bookings. Depending on how underground Digital Dreams decides to go in 2015, Bestival could also be in direct competition with them as well.

The summer festival season is already heating up, and the more choice can mean only good things for fans as promoters up the stakes to earn your hard earned dollars.
