How did the Swedish House Mafia and Eric Prydz get their start as DJs?

According to the inthemix article:

"Ingrosso, Angello, Axwell and their friend Eric Prydz began DJing every week at a gay club called the Rainbow Room, with a capacity of no more than 100 people. “The Rainbow Room made us into what we are,” inthemix heard Angello tell the EDMBiz conference last June. “We were guys playing vinyl, everybody wasted, couldn’t mix, the needles were sliding.” The scene in Sweden had a ceiling, so the guys began chasing international bookings. “We were playing in Sweden, but no one really gave a fuck,” Ingrosso recalls. “Even if we didn’t think about it yet, we worked hard to get a Swedish quality to our own sound.”

The whole article is a good read as the three guys from Sweden open up about their feelings thus far on the One Last Tour.

Before you buy your Swedish House Mafia Tickets at noon today you should read this

We are only a few hours away from the kick off of the ticket sales to the Canadian tour dates of Swedish House Mafia's 'One Last Tour'. But before you pick what kind of seating you should get for the show I think you should see this video:

This is Swedish House Mafia at the iheart radio festival on September 21st, 2012 in Las Vegas. The person shooting this video is easily 100-150 ft back from the stage yet has an almost perfect view of the concert.

Before you buy your tickets you should consider that the 'One Last Tour' stage set up is designed for huge arenas, meaning there will most likely not be a bad seat at the Bell Centre or Rogers Centre. If you get too close to the stage you might get a pixelated view of the light show while not being able to see the Swedish House Mafia because they are hoisted up on an elevated platform.

If I were buying tickets for this event I'd probably try for the middle rows of the 1st level which will probably give me the perfect viewing angle without having to pay premium for floor access. But that's just me.

Montreal, Bell Centre: I'd buy the $83 tickets in the Red B General Admission where I'd get a perfect front view of the stage.

Update: Early ticket sales are in: the Amsterdam show sold out but a 2nd show was almost immediately added. Could they be planning the same thing in Toronto and Montreal as well? There is a lot of days in between Feb 23rd and Feb 27th for a possible 2nd show in each city.

Swedish House Mafia 'One Last Tour' with Canadian stops in Toronto and Montreal

The Swedish House Mafia have finally announced their initial tour dates for their 'One Last Tour' with tour stops in Toronto and Montreal. I have a high suspicion that these will not be the only Canadian tour dates as there remains plenty of space to announce more dates in between the Toronto and Montreal gigs. The management behind SHM are marketing geniuses so expect them to wait for these initial dates to sell out before announcing their next batch of tour stops. Tickets go on sale for Toronto/Montreal on September 28th.
