Here we go! It wasn't easy to whittle down my favourite tracks of 2012 to just 5 but somehow I managed to and here are the results:
Read MoreIn praise of New City Gas
/Earlier this month I was finally able to visit the venue that has become a major stop for many major acts in EDM in Montreal, New City Gas. The new venue is set in an old industrial venue that might seem like you're entering a rave set in the 1990s but in reality the New City Gas is a well organized, safe venue that is very modern and chic.

/I was willing to give Al Walser a pass for being savvy enough to network his way to a Grammy nod but if what Zedd alleges is true then this is truly an embarrassing situation.

DJ Shadow kicked off the decks in Miami
/I don't care if I get kicked out of every rich kid club on the planet. I will never sacrifice my integrity as a DJ...ever #AllBassesCovered

DJ Shadow was kicked off the decks at the Mansion club in Miami, which is the same club that kicked off Dennis Ferrer earlier this year.
A few quick facts that you might not know about Ash Pournouri/Avicii
/Found this interview with Ash Pournouri (via inthemix) to be quite interesting:
Cheat sheet:
- Ash makes the point that Avicii remains an unsigned artist with no attachment to any label.
- All of the costs of Avicii's tour and productions costs are paid by team Avicii.
- Prior to managing Avicii, Ash Pournouri started off as a promoter in Stockholm.
- Avicii has a team of less than 9, which is small as compared to the 35 people that work for Tiesto.
- Ash first discovered Tim Bergling (aka Avicii) from hearing an early track from a few blogs.
I really like that last point.
