Diplo produced Snoop Lion's entire new album

This could be old news to some but when Snoop originally announced his new name and sound I thought it was cool but didn't bother to read further beyond the various tweets I saw that day. But after reading this recent interview of Diplo I decided to look a further and found this article detailing that the face of Mad Decent has produced Snoop Lion's entire new album.

Diplo, who produced the entire album under his alias Major Lazer, sat to Snoop's right. He said the music was "some of the best" he's ever made and expressed his respect for the latter's career shift. "He wanted to do real reggae," Diplo said. "To sing and find a new voice. It was a dream to work on an entire record [as opposed to a single]. That's very rare."

This summer I've been listening to anything and everything that Diplo and Mad Decent have been putting out so when I see someone as talented as Diplo 100% backing the Snoop Lion reinvention then you've gained my attention. Once there are some previews of the new album I'll be sure to post them here.

Swedish House Mafia 'One Last Tour' with Canadian stops in Toronto and Montreal

The Swedish House Mafia have finally announced their initial tour dates for their 'One Last Tour' with tour stops in Toronto and Montreal. I have a high suspicion that these will not be the only Canadian tour dates as there remains plenty of space to announce more dates in between the Toronto and Montreal gigs. The management behind SHM are marketing geniuses so expect them to wait for these initial dates to sell out before announcing their next batch of tour stops. Tickets go on sale for Toronto/Montreal on September 28th.

Swedish House Mafia is likely stop in Montreal as part of their One Last Tour

Evenko, one of the largest promoters in Montreal and organizer of the Osheaga festival tweeted this today:

Let's this speculation be classified under as a 'strong rumour' for now but everyone should interpret this Tweet as a strong indication that SHM will be stopping in Montreal. With the NHL lockout in effect my guess is that Evenko will hold this event at the Bell Centre. Needless to say this will be a very hot ticket and hopefully more Canadian tour dates will be added.

*Update*

Dancing Astronaut included Montreal as one of SHM's ten spots that they will be visiting as part of their 'One Last Tour' with this pic:

That's a picture of the New City Gas nightclub in Montreal with 3 loonie dots over it. I still hold out hope that SHM will be hosted at the Bell Centre because they are that huge, the tickets will sell out, and why not? If they do it at the New City Gas I feel that the tickets will not last more than a few minutes. Which is not a bad thing buuut what if Montreal is the only Canadian stop? Toronto and Ottawa SHM fans will absolutely be eyeing these tickets for a One Last Tour road trip.

Gareth Emery's Labour of Love set reviewed by @TranceinTOR

Interesting review on the current state of Gareth Emery's live sets:

"Gareth gave us exactly what we predicted – chart-topping anthems that are slightly overplayed but we still enjoy because we all know the words and the exact moments when the bass will drop.....To be honest, this Gareth set was very similar to what he played at Veld in the Bacardi tent."

Last year I saw Gareth Emery 3 times. This year? None. I think Gareth is an excellent DJ with a great live persona but I wished that he would vary his live sets a little more.

@TranceinTOR reviews other acts like Markus Schulz, W&W, and Glenn Morison who were also there for Labour of Love festivities in Toronto, check it out.

Trap Music: 3 DJ/Producers that you should familiarize yourself with

Seems like almost no one was talking about trap music not too long ago but all of a sudden this new(ish) genre has grown exponentially to a place where someone who wasn't known 4 months ago (UZ) is now signed and booking gigs cross country. Pretty impressive. To familiarize yourself with one of the hottest sounds in EDM, here are three high profile trap music DJ/producers (Flosstradamus, Baauer, UZ) that have risen to early prominence.
