Why you should go

The Festival d'été de Québec is not necessarily geared towards hardcore EDM fans as it is a festival that showcases a wide swath of popular music with a hint of electronic dance music acts added in. Deadmau5 gets main stage treatment, while The Bloody Beetroots, GTA, The Crystal Method, and Black Tiger Sex Machine get their own night at the Loto-Quebec Stage.

Acts to watch (If you want to hear new music)

Deadmau5: Set with a double album "while(1<2)" ready to be released this month, Deadmau5 will finally get to show off all of this new music that he's been so busy creating for the past year. Going to a Deadmau5 event is equivalent to taking a dive into the discography of the Toronto producer as he pretty much sticks to playing his own tracks live. Expect his Quebec City performance to be chock full of "while(1<2)" love.

The Crystal Method: This legendary duo has been around since the 1990s and still manages to produce records even to this day. They have released their self-titled fifth studio album this year that contains 11 original tracks, ready to be showcased. The Crystal Method played an important role in helping to build the electronic dance music scene to where it is today, and fans will get a chance to check out such a pioneering act this summer.
