Simon Patterson's radio show has definitely made a real mark on my musical tastes in 2013 as he ruthlessly blended anything from techno, deep house with trance, psy-trance, and more. Simon used his Open Up show to really innovate and show how you can properly blend trance with other genres without it sounding cheesy or forced.
