Why you should go

Veld has become a destination festival for many fans in Toronto and beyond. The buzz started early this year when over 25,000 fans logged in on the first day of ticket sales to get the cheapest deal. When you sell that many tickets when fans didn't even know the lineup yet, you know that the Veld Music Festival has become a brand name. Thankfully for fans Ink Entertainment managed to book big names including Calvin Harris, Armin Van Buuren, Sebastian Ingrosso, Nero, Knife Party, and more. If you're a big room fanatic and dig bass music, it's safe to say that Veld should be on your festival list.

Acts to watch (If you want to hear new music)

Nero: With one of the most anticipated albums this year, Nero will surely delight the crowd with loads of brand new music emanating from their own unique bass sound. Whenever Nero comes to town, they have always delivered, and then some. This is the set to watch.

Knife Party: After a long hiatus from touring, the duo from Australia are back in Toronto this summer and they will have brand new material to test out on the crowd. With a new album titled "Abandon Ship" in its final stages of planning (9 of 12 tracks finished), I have a feeling that Rob Swire and Gareth McGrillen are more than ready to take the big stage and electrify the crowd.

Sebastian Ingrosso: With the news of the new Axwell Λ Ingrosso super group and a new album on the way, it's safe to say that Ingrosso will treat the crowd with a few new tracks and sneak peaks. Getting to see Ingrosso live is not a regular occurrence in Toronto, so make sure to check him out at Veld when you get a chance.

Savoy: This Brooklyn based trio is more than ready for their Canadian summer tour. Armed with their Predator LP released earlier this year, brand new secret collaborations and a new EP on the way - Savoy will have plenty of new music to unleash this festival season. If you're looking to hear fresh heavy bass music, then place your bets on Savoy on bringing the heat.

Michael Brun: He recently claimed on Twitter that he's sitting on a mountain of unreleased material that he's ready to unleash on everyone very soon. After breaking out on the scene thanks to his massive remix of Dirty South's "Your Heart" and Alicia Keys "Fire We Make", Michael Brun told EDM Canada that he's ready to take it to the next level by releasing a lot more originals. His style is melodic and the likelihood of releasing more memorable tracks for fans is almost a surety. Click here to read my interview with this young talent

Milo & Otis: This duo are on an absolute roll in 2014 after being billed with Skrillex, Dillon Francis, and DJ Snake on the Mothership Tour. They have also been busy in the studio with a recent collaboration with A-Trak already released, remixes of Henry Fong and Vice tracks already in the bag. Their big break was being a part of the Duck Sauce "NRG" hit remix with Skrillex and Kill The Noise. These guys are en fuego and it's exciting to see where they'll end up next.
