Kill the Noise and Mat Zo team up for "Part 1"

In anticipation of their upcoming Kill The Zo tour, Mat Zo and Kill the Noise have teamed up to create "Part 1", a new collaborative track with drum & bass flavour, check it out:

The title of the track leads me to think that there will be a "Part 2", so hang onto to your seat as we may be hearing even more KTN + Mat Zo collabs in the future.

Quote of the day by Kill The Noise

Kill The Noise and Mat Zo recently talked to UKF in anticipation of the "Kill The Zo" North American tour. About midway through the interview, Kill The Noise gave a thought provoking answer when asked whether there was a moral code/artist integrity missing within dance music:

"You can see it in their work; the one place it’s difficult to lie. Impossible to lie, even. You can hear it when people are really pushing themselves creatively and making a contribution..."

"...It’s the eternal problem with success. Success chips away at you. You want more money, you want more fame, you want more privileges, you don’t want to go away, you always want to be part of the show. And to do that you have to make sacrifices. Like not spending enough time in the studio and really thinking about what you’re doing and figuring out why you started making music in the first place. And on top of that, you’ve got people who are just performers."

Have you watched all of the UKF meets video series? You should

The long time Youtube channel for everything bass music UKF have upped their game significantly by creating a well produced video series known as "UKF meets". The videos are short but give a quick snapshot into the lives of the artists they portray. I was introduced to this series by the excellent video on Kill The Noise, but have come to appreciate the other videos on offer that take a look at Bro Safari, Kastle, Reeps One, and Flume. If you liked the KTN video (Click here to watch it), then you're going to the following:

Bro Safari

Bro Safari fills us in on his tour bus essentials and talks to us about the changing definition of trap music and how he ended up making it via punk and d&b.

Kastle

We linked up with Symbols label boss Kastle to find out what it's like touring Europe & moving to LA at an indoor skatepark in Bristol. Kastle Like → https://www.facebook.com/kastledub Follow → https://twitter.com/kastle Tracks featured: Kastle - Stay Forever (VIP Remix) Kaste - Redlight (Ft.

Flume

In the first episode of UKF Meets, we catch-up with Australian superstar Flume in a hostel to talk about making his debut album while travelling around the world, and we catch his eye-popping live show in London.

Reeps One

Human sound system Reeps One invites us into his world, from his unique brand of multi-genre, all-live beatboxing he calls "face music", to his intricate over-sized artwork and live sound visualisations or cymatics. We see Reeps rock London's Jazz Cafe and are treated to an extra-special cymatics-laden performance of his forthcoming track, Move.
