Joel Zimmerman: "I’m no longer going to be managing my own twitter account for “deadmau5”

Just a few minutes ago, Joel Zimmerman, the man behind Deadmau5, has just announced over his Tumblr page that he will no longer manage his own twitter account. Here's the full statement:

twitter and the like.

I’m no longer going to be managing my own twitter account for “deadmau5”. I’m going to let management deal with that account. My reasons are my own, not because of something i said, not because of this hilarious I.R.A. vs “ira” craic, not because of lady gaga’s infinite legions of brain dead fans. but as i said… reasons of my own.
Perhaps ill return to that in world as some reincarnation of sort, but for now, that’s off the table for me. I’ll continue to upload new music to my soundcloud, and the twitter account will point you in the right direction for the most recent happenings… but enough’s enough with living on twitter. Time to at least start by living in the studio making music without having to be force-fed stupid shit that annoys me, when all i’m trying to do is connect with fans.
as for the fans, thanks for all your continued support and understanding of my decision to personally unplug myself from the very thing that’s making me upset. As i’ve mentioned, the account will remain alive, and *my team*  (yeah i went there) will keep you just as updated on the ongoings with new music and shit that actually matters.
To leave you with some good news, my new Tricaster arrives today. SO perhaps ill be streaming video with direct audio a lot more often.
thanks for having my back on this one.
-Joel

For Twitter lovers like myself, Deadmau5's presence will be sorely missed. Even if you didn't agree with the man, he was always interesting as he never hesitated to express his own opinions.

My hope is that once his new album is finished and his upcoming world tour in place, that he'll return to his Twitter account with a clearer head. Love him or hate him, you'll be missed Joel.

Deadmau5 deactivates his Twitter and uploads the 7 deadly sins to Soundcloud

You can't predict Deadmau5: sometimes he'll seem invincible when taking on Justin Bieber and Lady Gaga fans, and other times, like tonight, he'll retreat and deactivate his Twitter in a surprise move to focus more on his music. One day you'll see him do coffee runs, and the next he might disappear for a while. That's the X factor with Deadmau5, you simply cannot predict his next step. At this time it's far from clear when the next time we'll hear from Deadmau5 on Twitter, but at least he's been good enough to not leave fans empty handed as he just uploaded 7 new sounds on Soundcloud. Every track is named after the 7 deadly sins in Latin, here's the quick and easy translation courtesy of YourEDM:

"Ira" - Wrath

"Avaritia" - Greed

"Gula" - Gluttony

"Superbia" - Pride

"Luxuria" - Lust

"Invidia" - Envy

"Acedia" – Sloth

Hopefully this break from Twitter is only temporary, but while we wait, enjoy this fresh compilation of sounds by our favourite Mau5:
