Listen to Skrillex epic 2-hour BBC Radio 1's Essential Mix

Link. (Includes full track listing)

With a few unreleased Dog Blood tracks, remixes, and edits - listening to this mix from Skrillex goes way beyond the hard hitting dubstep that he was famous for. This 2 hour mix takes you on a journey of varied tracks and different genres that few can put together as well as Sonny can. Besides the new Dog Blood material, Skrillex did not play any self produced tracks, nor any tracks from his collaboration with Diplo named Jack U. That being said, Skrillex weaves easily one of the best essential mixes of the year.

This is what GriZ had to say about the current state of dubstep

Life and Times recently asked the 21 year old producer GriZ (AKA Grant Kwiecinski) on whether dubstep was dead:

"I would say that in a lot of sense they might be correct... That really, really aggressive in-your-face, loud, high pitched noises, distracting sounds kind of thing – I feel like that stylistically is kind of on its way out. The new trap movement and all that kind of stuff– kids are enjoying that tempo and that energy of music in a different way. I think it’s just change. Nothing’s really dead, it’s just different"
