Jon O'Bir retires from DJ/Producing

From his Facebook page:

"Hello… and goodbye.

After 12 years, I've decided to move away from DJ'ing and producing. I lived the dream in those 12 years, too many highlights to mention, but include playing at some of the most amazing events, being resident of GodsKitchen, having a show on BBC Radio 1, being invited to do the Essential Mix and of course the two albums 'From Within' and 'Music Database'. A big THANK YOU to all who have helped me along in my career, you know who you are and of course to you, who listened and watched me during what seemed this unreal moment in my life, I could not have done it without you. I will be moving on to another exciting project, but I'll still be working closely for our events and label company, Infinity.

Details of my last few gigs to come soon, I hope to see some of you there, but for now, I'll leave you with one of the highs. Midnight, NYE 2005, New York City on my 21st birthday. One of many golden memories."

Best of luck on your future endeavours Jon O'Bir.

A few more details about the first TomorrowWorld

An Associated Press article divulged a few more details about the upcoming TomorrowWorld at Chattahoochee Hills in Georgia:

"TomorrowWorld is expected to attract internationally renowned DJs and 50,000 fans each day."
..."We will create a fairytale world from the smallest detail to the biggest stage," Tomorrowland co-owner Michiel Beers said.
"Artists will be announced starting in April. Beers said the lineup will likely be similar to the Belgian event."

For the most up to date lineup information for Tomorrowland in Belgium, check their Facebook page. One lineup highlight that I hope the organizers bring from Tomorrowland to TomorrowWorld is the open to close solo set by Markus Schulz:

TomorrowWorld's location is revealed!

TomorrowWorld (September 27-29) is set for Chattahoochee Hills just outside of Atlanta, Georgia:

TomorrowWorld requires people to be 21 years or older to attend the event which will be sure to please many older fans. Click here to pre-register as it is mandatory to complete the form if you want to purchase a ticket.

On sale dates:

  • Global Journey: April 24th - 11 am (EST)
  • USA Exclusive: April 27th - 11 am (EST)
  • Worldwide: May 4th - 11 am (EST)

I have a strong feeling that this one will sell out in record time. If you are Canadian and want to secure your ticket to this historic event then I suggest you start browsing the Global Journey travel packages because if you wait until May 4th then it might be too late.

Dog Blood is set to perform at Ottawa's Bluesfest on July 14th

Despite the bad news that Skrillex's Full Flex Tour was canceled earlier today - out from the ashes, a phoenix rose in the form of the Skrillex and Boys Noize's collaboration named Dog Blood will be taking its place in one of the previously scheduled Full Flex tour locations. Dog Blood will be playing at the RBC Royal Bank Bluesfest on Sunday July 14th in Ottawa.

If they do not announce any other prior Canadian dates, then July 14th will become Dog Blood's debut show on Canadian soil. Is this just the first among many Dog Blood tour stops across Canada or will the Ottawa date be the only one? Only time will tell. Hopefully more Canadian dates will be announced as many fans would love the chance to watch Dog Blood for the first time to make up for the disappointing loss of the Full Flex 2013 tour.
