NME's "The 50 Greatest Producers Ever" list

Notables include DJ Shadow at #50, and DJ Premier at #24. You can find the full list here.

In ten years time when they make a new top 50 list, what do you think the chances of someone like Diplo making the cut if you assume that the Snoop Lion album is a success?

What about the chances of someone like Calvin Harris making it if he continues to create chart topping collaborations? Or what about, dare I say it, David Guetta's chances?

James Zabiela picked this monster track as part of his Beatport Space Ibiza Chart

Shed - Day After (Original Mix):

The beat is so thumping and heavy hitting that I could only imagine hearing this with a proper sound system.

Beatport described Zabiela as a DJ that crafts " immense, energetic, and diverse sets that are tailor-made for his audience, and, fittingly, this is a wonderful summary to one of the scene’s best DJs." You can check out his Space Ibiza Chart selection here.

James Zabiela will be coming to Montreal to the Circus Afterhours club on October 27th. Tickets are only $20.

Deadmau5 new album is out, here are some initial reviews

The new Deadmau5 titled >album title goes here< came out yesterday:

Dancing Astronaut, Lessthan3, and Electric Honeycomb wrote their own respective reviews on the album. You can find them here:

While no review gives the album an overwhelming endorsement each blog outlines their favourite tracks out of the bunch. I think >album title goes here< is a successful album with some deep tracks that merit a good listen alone in the bedroom with your headphones on. My personal favourites out of the bunch are 'Superliminal' for it's bass and 'Fn Pig' for it's long buildup but huge payoff:

I'll be enjoying both of these tracks for a while.
