Funniest thing I've read in a while - Riff Raff concert review in Seattle

I literally laughed out loud multiple times while reading this concert review of Riff Raff by Andrew Matson from the Seattle Times:

The California-via-Texas rapper went on an hour late and only played for 30 minutes. But that was long enough. Any more and someone probably would have burned the place down...
...The smallish club felt oversold... Others tried to sneak in from the sidewalk to the back patio, throwing themselves over the heavy metal gate, crashing into the bushes...
...After the show multiple fights broke out on the sidewalk. Driving away, I saw guys five blocks down the road ripping off shirts, squaring up. It was too much.

But guess what? Despite all of the tongue lashing Andrew actually thought the music was good. The legend of Riff Raff continues to grow.

Riff Raff will be in Winnipeg tomorrow at the Greenroom, and at the Fortune Sound Club in Vancouver this Friday.

Diplo produced Snoop Lion's entire new album

This could be old news to some but when Snoop originally announced his new name and sound I thought it was cool but didn't bother to read further beyond the various tweets I saw that day. But after reading this recent interview of Diplo I decided to look a further and found this article detailing that the face of Mad Decent has produced Snoop Lion's entire new album.

Diplo, who produced the entire album under his alias Major Lazer, sat to Snoop's right. He said the music was "some of the best" he's ever made and expressed his respect for the latter's career shift. "He wanted to do real reggae," Diplo said. "To sing and find a new voice. It was a dream to work on an entire record [as opposed to a single]. That's very rare."

This summer I've been listening to anything and everything that Diplo and Mad Decent have been putting out so when I see someone as talented as Diplo 100% backing the Snoop Lion reinvention then you've gained my attention. Once there are some previews of the new album I'll be sure to post them here.

Swedish House Mafia 'One Last Tour' with Canadian stops in Toronto and Montreal

The Swedish House Mafia have finally announced their initial tour dates for their 'One Last Tour' with tour stops in Toronto and Montreal. I have a high suspicion that these will not be the only Canadian tour dates as there remains plenty of space to announce more dates in between the Toronto and Montreal gigs. The management behind SHM are marketing geniuses so expect them to wait for these initial dates to sell out before announcing their next batch of tour stops. Tickets go on sale for Toronto/Montreal on September 28th.
