Cosmic Gate hits it out of the park with Wake Your Mind Sessions 002 (Compilation)

Cosmic Gate just released an epic 33 track 2-disc compilation which could very well be the best ensemble of progressive and trance tracks in 2016. If you enjoy the deeper stuff along with Cosmic Gate's classic uplifting and emotional brand of music, then this is the release for you.

The first CD is a showcase of the deeper side of Cosmic Gate as they slowly turn the temperature up to the 2nd CD where the magic happens. You'll get to hear their latest hit "am2pm", as well as a nasty remix of Cosmic Gate's "So Get Up" by Alex Di Stefano. Another little gem is the revamped "Third Contact" remix of their classic hit "Exploration of Space", giving it a fresh coat of paint ready for the 2016 summer festival season.

The first Wake Your Mind compilation released last year made a strong impression, but the 2nd installment served to solidify the series as a must-listen for every trance fan. Wake Your Mind Sessions 002 is a pleasure to listen to and is a fantastic compilation to pick up following Anjunabeats Volume 12. You can buy it by clicking here.

Avicii plans to stop touring after 2016

(Source: Rukes)

Tim Berg, AKA Avicii, has posted a lengthy thank you letter to his inner circle and fans today on his website announcing that he plans to stop touring following his scheduled shows in 2016. Here's a snippet:

My path has been filled with success but it hasn’t come without its bumps. I’ve become an adult while growing as an artist, I’ve come to know myself better and realize that there’s so much I want to do with my life. I have strong interests in different areas but there’s so little time to explore them.

Two weeks ago, I took the time to drive across the U.S. with my friends and team, to just look and see and think about things in a new way. It really helped me realize that I needed to make the change that I’d been struggling with for a while.

My choices and career have never been driven by material things, although I’m grateful for all the opportunities and comforts my success has availed me. I know I am blessed to be able to travel all around the world and perform, but I have too little left for the life of a real person behind the artist.

I will however never let go of music - I will continue to speak to my fans through it, but I’ve decided this 2016 run will be my last tour and last shows. Let’s make them go out with a bang!

However, Avicii did leave the door open for a possible return in the future:

"One part of me can never say never, I could be back ...but I won’t be right back."
