Savoy releases a new album for free and you need to download it ASAP

Savoy has definitely gone above and beyond with the release of their album titled "Self Predator", a 15 track masterwork that takes you on a musical journey from track one to the last. You should give it at least one full listen as it was laid out by Savoy because "Self Predator" has been carefully crafted to start off on a lighter note with the intro and "Mind Over Matter". Then it goes up a notch or two with "Bizzy" and onwards until it lets you glide back to earth starting with "Prey for New York", and finally "Nothing Stays The Same". If you want to listen in to Savoy's first album, click on the stream below:

Hardwell: "I’m fine with ghost producing in general..."

In a recent interview with inthemix, Hardwell discussed his own view on the secretive world of ghost producing:

"Well I’m fine with ghost producing in general, but if you’re not producing your own tracks, be honest, say ‘I’m a good DJ but I can’t produce my own songs, I got help’. I think that’s fair. Just don’t pretend you’re this big producer, because obviously you can hear it, every track sounds totally different, like differently mastered. Everybody knows in the scene who works with ghost producers as well, because nobody noticed that I have a Top 10 Beatport hit with a track not under my name that I ghost produced, but nobody’s noticed it."

Interesting take, do you agree? If DJs were more honest about getting help on their tracks, I think that'd go a long way to clear the air on the whole ghost producing issue that's going on within the EDM world.

Digital album sales in Canada rose 9% in 2013

As reported by Music Week:

"Digital albums sales rose 9% year-on-year in Canada in 2013, while digital singles were up 2%.

That’s according to Nielsen SoundScan data, which shows an increase in digital album sales from 10.5 million in 2012 to 11.4 million last year, and digital singles moving from 114.3 million to 116.1 million.

The Canadian figures contrast to those in the US, where digital album sales dropped for the first time in 2013 as the overall albums sector declined by 8.4%."

We love our music up here, go Canada.
