Skrillex returns to Edmonton with 12th Planet, Brodinski, and Cashmere Cat in late December

Skrillex will be making his triumphant return to Edmonton on Friday, December 27th at the Shaw Conference Centre which promises to be a massive party. Why you ask? Because Boodang and Union Electronic has decided to stack the lineup as Skrillex' close friend 12th Planet will be there along with Bromance head Brodinski, and Cashmere Cat. Not bad at all I say.

Skrillex is back on the watch list after laying low with his Dog Blood project for much of the year while spending a lot of time in the studio. Last month Skrillex gave fans an indication that he hasn't abandoned his older style with the release of the Try It Out EP along with OWSLA mate Alvin Risk. With a rumoured new album ready to be released anytime, Skrillex is ready to show off what he's done in the studio to his massive fan base.

Brodinski, the French DJ/Producer doesn't regularly tour in Canada so the ability to get to see him perform at a major venue like the Shaw Conference Centre will be his opportunity to show off the Bromance Records vibe. Expect to hear a trap/hip hop infused set from him. 12th Planet, fresh from his solid set at EDC Orlando, will always be there to turn up the heat as requested. Cashmere Cat (Norwegian artist Magnus August Hoiberg) is another name that normally doesn't get to visit Edmonton, so this is a great opportunity to check all of these artists out all in one night.

Tickets go on sale starting on November 20th (pre-sale password is leaving), while the general sale starts on November 22nd at 10:00 am.

General Admission starts at $49 while VIP tickets are $89. Click here for more information.

The Brrrrr! Winter Music Festival returns to Toronto in February

On Saturday, February 1st, the Brrrrr! Winter Music Festival returns to Echo Beach in Toronto. This festival is celebrated outdoors (dress warm!) but makes up for it by providing what promises to be an "extra-sensory experience" and "stunning visual displays". Just like the inaugural Brrrrr! festival, the 2014 edition promises another diverse lineup that will put a few genres in the spotlight. Last year they brought in the likes of Moby, Deniz Koyu, Dubfire, Danny Avila and more - so when Electronic Nation promises a diverse lineup, they mean it.

Here's the official aftermovie for the 2013 edition of Brrrrr!:

Tickets to the 2014 Brrrrr! Winter Music festival goes on sale to the general public starting on November 22nd at 10 am. General admission tickets will range from $37.50-$47.50, while VIP tickets will go for $77.50. Click here for more ticket information.

The official dates for EDC Las Vegas 2014 are set

The dates for the 2014 edition of the Electric Daisy Carnival have been revealed as over 300,000 fans will descend to the Nevada desert from Friday, June 20th until Sunday, June 22nd 2014 for a massive 3 day/night festival. Pasquale Rotella, the head of Insomniac Events which organizes EDC, wanted to reminded us all at how epic EDC Las Vegas was this year by releasing an amazing 7 minute video that showed off all of the extra production value which leaves fans wanting more:

Did you notice the lack of DJs featured in this video? Pasquale really believes that the true headliner is you, the fans, and the experience one gets when you visit his fantasy world. I think that's pretty cool if you ask me.

I have little doubt that thousands of Canadians will be making the trek to Las Vegas in 2014 to experience the next edition of EDC, so plan ahead, call friends, and get ready. "Headliner Loyalty Tickets" for EDC Las Vegas 2014  will be on sale on November 25th, while "early owl" (aka early bird) will go on sale on December 2nd. Be sure to check back once the proper ticket links are revealed.

Free download: Henry Fong 13 track bootleg pack mix

The bootleg pack is available for free download, but requires a "like" to access it. For 13 free tracks, clicking a "like" button does seem more than fair. MAKJ has named Henry Fong as someone to watch, so make sure to keep an eye out for this talent.

Azari & III call it quits

It looks like the Canadian group Azari & III have split. According to a Facebook post by group member Alphonse Alixander Lanza III:

"Ladies and gentleman, boys and girls, the art project known as AZARI & III has done its work, run its course and is, for all intents and purposes, a momentary blip in time, now forever imprinted on the Universe."

Update: Not all is lost as a new project called "Aeon of the Phoenic" is on the horizon.
