Fresh track: Will Atkinson & Nick Callaghan - "Beat Dem Bad" (Bonus interview)

Will Atkinson and Nick Callaghan have released a sequel to their well regarded track "Limitless" with "Beat Dem Bad" as it was premiered on Will Atkinson's Mainline show this week. This track has so many twists and turns that I'm not entirely surprised to hear that Will was actually slapped while he played it during one of his sets, check it out:

When I spoke to Will Atkinson a few weeks ago, he managed to give me a few words about his latest collab track, read on:

Will Atkinson: Me and Nick Callaghan did a track together called “limitless”, it was a really experimental sort of statement where we thought outside of the box. This new track is the follow up and we've been working on it for almost a year now. When you hear it you'll understand. We've been playing early copies in Argentina and the reaction is just unbelievable. We cannot wait to show you guys. I've actually been slapped in the face for playing it so it's going to turn some heads.

EDM Canada: What BPM is it at?

Will Atkinson: It's at 135 bpm

EDM Canada: Oh, so it's a slower for you.

Will Atkinson: It's slower but it's really chunky and you can pitch it up a bit and it will still sound good.

There is no set release date for "Beat Dem Bad", but I'm sure it will get a lot of play time in the underground trance scene in the UK and Ireland.

Is WEMF coming back in 2014?

Destiny Events, the organizers behind WEMF and Digital Dreams, have just released this (not so) cryptic tweet asking for fans to support the new WEMF Facebook page:

The World Electronic Music Festival, or WEMF, was canceled last year because the "economics no longer make sense". Hopefully that will not be the case in 2014 and we'll see a return of a much beloved Ontario based festival.

If you do support WEMF, go ahead and like their new Facebook page.

Album teaser: Markus Schulz - Buenos Aires '13

Buenos Aires '13
By Marcus Schulz

Markus Schulz's next compilation album will be named after a city that has such an enormous impact on the trance scene in the past few years, Buenos Aires, Argentina. I've heard enough DJs in various interviews, radio shows that say only positive things about Argentina which has become a favourite destination among trance DJs. So it's only fitting that Markus Schulz is honouring the capital city of a country that has fallen in love with trance music.

Here's a video teaser giving you a feel for the 2 CD release:
