Hooks from Zeds Dead shows off his graffiti skills (Video)

Hooks from Zeds Dead showed off his graffiti art skills to Thump in a video to promote his upcoming Altered States tour starting this Fall:

Apparently Hooks was active in the graffiti Toronto scene from 2005-2008:

"I was really active from about 2005 to 2008, then I started to slow down a lot when we started touring. I was really influenced early on by a lot of writers from Toronto like Causr, Kane, Sight, Skam, Bacon, Kwest, Sent2, Koner, Fathom... to name a few. Also the book Subway Art had a big impact on my style. It's hard to pick a favorite of all time, but right now some of my favorites are Askew, Roids, Rime, Horfee, Revok, Atlas, and Sofles, in no particular order.

Did you ever have any graffiti-related drama?

Hooks: I've been in a lot of sketchy situations through graff. Been caught a few times. Painting at strange hours of the night in weird areas, you see a lot of the seedy underbelly of a city.

EDM snubbed at the VMAs

As reported by Dancing Astronaut:

"Despite MTV’s recent MTV Clubland outlet, dance music stars were snubbed of awards at last night’s VMAs. There was Zedd being beat out by Austin Mahone for the fan-voted Artist to Watch, Calvin Harris falling short to Pink for Best Collaboration and to Justin Timberlake for best editing, A-Trak & Tommy Trash being toppled by Ryan Lewis & Macklemore for Best Cinematography, and both Skrillex and Duck Sauce taking a back seat to Capital Cities for Best Visual Effects."

Can't say that I'm surprised, but I was hoping for at least one award going to an EDM act this year.

Watch a clip from Daft Punk's upcoming official video for "Lose Yourself To Dance"

Everyone who watched the VMA's yesterday were treated to a promo clip of Daft Punk's upcoming official video for their next release "Lose Yourself To Dance", check it out:

Kinda weird that they didn't perform live though, especially after that entire Colbert incident.
