Yup, you can get married at EDC Las Vegas

Who's ready for some PLUR weddings at EDC Las Vegas?  Wedding packages range from $99 to $179, with the $99 "EDC traditional wedding" being performed by an "EDC Minister". The $179 package has Elvis performing the ceremony along with 2 songs. Both packages include the use of the "Electric Daisy Bouquet", and a special "souvenir certificate commemorating the special union."

One important note is that this EDC wedding ceremony is actually not legal as you will require to obtain a marriage license prior to the ceremony. With 345,000 planning on attending EDC Las Vegas this weekend, the odds of a few couples taking the big leap during the festivities is favourable.

For those wanting to seek a free option, EDC Las Vegas is also offering a free "wonderland renewal & commitment ceremonies" which is a "very sweet ceremony binds any couple or group of people together in love and friendship." Cute. This will be offered on a first come, first serve basis.

Local Calgary community association worried about the Mad Decent Block Party

Mad Decent Block Party Calgary

As reported by CTV News:

"Residents of the nearby communities of Castleridge, Falconridge, and Martindale are worried the family oriented park won't be able to handle a festival the size of Mad Decent.  Marc Langlois, with the Falconridge-Castleridge Community Association, says the community was not consulted when plans for the outdoor concert was approved.

"The biggest worry is the after effect," says Langlois.  "What happens when the thing shuts down after eleven o'clock? If there's 4,000 people coming out of here where are they going to go?"

Union Events, the organizers behind the MDBP in Calgary, will be sending out flyers that will clearly indicate "times, security and traffic plans" to all houses within the vicinity of the event this week. Hopefully that will help clear up any concerns that Marc Langlois and the Falconridge-Castleridge Community Association may have.

The lineup for Calgary's Mad Decent Block Party is absolutely phenomenal with artists like Major Lazer, Zeds Dead, Dillon Francis, Flosstradamus, Big Gigantic and more booked for the July 19th event at Prairie Winds Park. Tickets are on sale now: $45-$50 for General Admission, and $79.50 for a VIP pass. Click here now for full event information.

International artists cancel their participation in Rush 2013 due to contractual difficulties

With only 4 days before what was supposed to be a major EDM event happening in Montreal, today we have witnessed a dramatic change in lineup as all international artists have withdrawn from Rush 2013. These include headliners like Bryan Kearney, Indecent Noise, Christopher Lawrence, Ummet Ozcan, Kevin Saunderson and more. Seemingly without warning, Physical Events has changed their previously star studded lineup from this:

To this:

The booking agency Audio Religion Music has come out with an official statement explaining their reasoning for pulling out of Rush 2013 on Facebook:

"It is with regret that we inform you that Bryan Kearney, Christopher Lawrence, Indecent Noise and Ummet Ozcan will not be performing at Rush 2013 in Montreal, scheduled for this Saturday, June 22nd.

The promoter (Physical Events ran by Michael Mejaries) has broken numerous terms in each contract agreed with the separate artists and their management (Assured Artists, Audio Religion Music, Cue Music, Fresh Artiste Management & Newjam), has displayed a pure lack of professionalism and most importantly has failed to provide the necessary travel arrangements and work permits for the artists and payment of artists fees.

The management companies grouped together to offer the promoter multiple solutions but none of the solutions were acted upon so they have been forced to withdraw the artists from the event.

All the management companies are committed to rescheduling their respective artists show in Montreal in the near future."

Ummet Ozcan's management also went on twitter today to inform his fans that he will not be performing at Rush 2013:

As it stands now, Rush 2013 looks very different as it now features only local talent on the lineup. Tickets are still being sold at their original price of $65+ on the official website and thus far there has been no official statement from Physical Events.

Pete Tong on Avicii's new single: "Nashville goes EDM"

Pete Tong's parting thoughts on "Wake Me Up":

"Nashville goes EDM. What more can you say? I can see the line dancing video now"

What do you think of Avicii's new bluegrass-EDM inspired "Wake Me Up" track? Have a listen:

So far the Youtube horde have overwhelmingly endorsed Avicii's new direction, with 9,601 likes vs. 329 on the negative side. My take? I like it but it's more for home listening rather than the big festival stage.
