According to Mixmag, the new Daft Punk album might feature collaborations with Nile Rodgers, Giorgio Moroder, Paul Williams, *Update: Panda Bear, and Chilly Gonzales. To say that I'm excited to hear the results of these collabs would be a complete understatement.

Ultra Music to release a UMF Compilation album

As mentioned by Patrick Moxey, President and Founder of Ultra Music, in an interview with Billboardbiz:

Q. What will Ultra Music’s first year at Ultra Music Festival include?
"Certainly a number of our artists are playing, which is awesome, and we’re preparing the release of the UMF compilation album, which will be going live on iTunes shortly before the festival takes place."

How can you put together a compilation album for a festival with 250 different acts? That's going to be a big challenge.

Billboard launches new EDM blog column

Billboard launched a new EDM centric blog column called 'Code' lead by Kerri Mason. She has a long history of being involved in the EDM scene dating back to the 1990s that was well documented in her personal blog post "Press Play? Hit Start". This is a savvy move on the part of Billboard and I'm looking forward to reading articles from 'Code' in the future.

When Rolling Stone gets it wrong

Credit goes to VanCityDanceNrd for finding this big mistake on the part of Rolling Stone who wrote a quick article on the Phase 2 lineup of the Ultra Music Festival:

"The festival has also added a batch of electronic up-and-comers, including Benny Benassi, Steve Aoki, Dirty South, Eric Prydz, Hardwell and more."

Whoops. With the exception of Hardwell, none of those names can be considered 'up-and-comers'.
